I am passionate about supporting children and adolescents who experience challenges with thinking abilities, attention, self-regulation and socio-emotional functioning. At Colibri NeuroWellness, I provide psychoeducational assessments for a wide range of concerns, including learning and developmental difficulties, academic and cognitive functioning, executive functioning, behavioural challenges, emotional regulation, social skills, and the impacts of traumatic experiences. I also offer therapy for children and adolescents, drawing on evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based interventions. My goal is to help children and teens build the skills, resilience, and confidence they need to thrive both in school and in their everyday lives.
I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, and families in both clinical and educational settings, including Merrymount Family Support and Crisis Centre, Mary J. Wright Child and Youth Development Clinic, Waterloo Region District School Board, and Thames Valley District School Board. My experience includes conducting psychoeducational assessments and delivering both individual and group-based interventions for children and adolescents with developmental, learning, behavioural, and socio-emotional needs. Through supervised training at Colibri NeuroWellness, I have also gained experience conducting neuropsychological assessments for children presenting with cognitive challenges, neurodevelopmental/neurological conditions, and concerns related to potential Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).
I earned my M.A. in Child Studies from Concordia University and my Ph.D. in School and Applied Child Psychology from Western University. Before pursuing doctoral studies, I provided Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) services to young children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through the Integrated Health and Social Services University Network for West-Central Montreal (CIUSSS West-Central Montreal) in Montreal, Quebec.
